About Carol

I received my Master's of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in 2016.  I am a Registered Psychotherapist through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) and a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate with the State of Colorado.   I have received advanced Sex Offender therapy training through the Sex Offense Management Board.

As a Denver native and first generation to East Indian parents, I was raised seeing my parents struggle with cultural differences.  Despite both of them being raised in the same area of India, their mindsets about marriage and parenthood were starkly different. I never witnessed them sitting down to talk about these struggles, but rather, they seemed to view their relationship as what was to be expected.  As I witnessed this relationship dynamic, I learned the importance of bringing differences to the forefront.

I have extensive experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, oppression, addiction, relationship issues, mental health conditions, and sexual issues. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families from all cultures, sexual orientation, and relationship dynamic.

Approach and specialties

We all get so many messages about who we are supposed to be from family, friends, and society. It can get overwhelming and confusing at times.  Relationships add the dynamic of bringing two people with these multi-faceted identities together, therefore, it’s only natural for relationship issues to arise.  I truly believe that the first step is bringing these different belief systems to the table and seeing where the disconnections are before determining what shifts need to be made.  I help my clients understand the importance and the meaning behind their struggles and fights. I work with them to examine their beliefs through a wider lens in order to see where they are conflicting with their partner’s beliefs and develop a plan to shift from their gridlocks without losing themselves. I am here to help my clients make sense of why and how they are operating within their relationships, while also providing them space to negotiate different options for different outcomes.

I love being a Marriage and Family Therapist because it looks at the many influences throughout a person's life that have made them who they are rather than jumping to any conclusions about them.  Therapy can be intimidating, but in my eyes, the Marriage and Family Therapy approach is less shaming by externalizing a person's life in a way that can be understood more easily.  I strive to help each of my clients get develop the life and relationships that they truly want.

"As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.”
